Ed. 1/2 Collection Eric Franck, London

Process Note: The five prints come from 3 negatives of a single, flowerless Orchid plant, two of which I reversed to produce the five prints. The prints were then allowed to gain some damage around the edges over a period of time in the studio. Once I felt they had the patina I wanted, I had them archivally mounted, cracked edges and all, onto black museum board. So the final works have occasional cracks and slight tears around some of the edges, but have been professionally mounted so it is clear they are meant to be imperfect. The prints were then re-touched by the artist. These kinds of imperfections are very important to my way of working with photography. The fragmenting of a single object is a sustained method within my ongoing practice. The use of an upside down image within the sequence was the first manifestation of this within my practice.
