The Appearance of the Work-World
All work included in the current display forms a category of the life collection entitled ‘The Appearance of the Work-World’. Elements from other categories may, from time to time, appear out of place. For example, something from the ‘Re-Potting 2001 (Recovering a Small-World Aesthetic)’ category has found its way into the wrong department.
These mistakes occur primarily out of an inability to organize these things into a sustainable system which continues to satisfy over time. In as much as occasionally something might appear in the wrong place, equally there are always things missing. These two sub-categories of out-of-place work are beginning to constitute another, which for the time being shall be known as ‘Part I’: a roving, self-selecting and ultimately enigmatic collection, the whereabouts of which remain unknown.
