"The Illegible Portrait & The Right to Opacity", is an Artist's Talk, which I wrote in early 2025 and first delivered as a public lecture at UCL, London at the invitation of Katrina Palmer for the Slade School of Art. I am making it available here as it has been well received and many have found it very helpful for the development of practice or deeper insights into my practice tools and methods.
 
The talk was intended to be something new and useful in the contemporary moment, written and delivered with joy and detail, from a reflective and unmasked autistic perspective. It gets into my formula of the 'clearing', and teaches how to use it oneself for developing ones own practice in a way that is deepening and focusing whilst also allowing for great freedom.
